Service Description

Join sewist and fellow dancer Sarah Millar in this sewing workshop. SKILL LEVEL This workshop is suitable for all sewing levels. Whether you've only used your machine once, or are a confident sewist, this class welcomes everyone. WORKSHOP AGENDA In this class we will cover : ● Taking body measurements ● Choosing silhouette ● Drafting the skirt ● Cutting fabric ● Threading sewing machine ● Hemming the skirt ● Attaching the waistband WHAT TO BRING Students must bring the following supplies: ● Sewing machine ● Sewing tools (pins, fabric scissors, fresh sewing machine needle size 11-14, tailors chalk/erasable fabric pen, snips, measuring tape) ● 1.5-2 meters of fabric of choice (chiffon, georgette, voile…) ● Thread (the colour will be visible!) ● Waist band: 2-3 meters of double fold bias binding (¼” - ⅝”wide) or ribbon (⅜” - ¾” wide) ● Optional: seam gauge, duckbill scissors, ballet skirt you already own for reference
